OUR PROGRAMME

We offer two options for taking part in the Healthier You: Type 2 Diabetes Prevention Programme.

1. You can join our coach-led group programme alongside others in your local area who are also reducing their risk of developing Type 2 Diabetes.

2. We offer an online app alternative, so you can complete the programme remotely with digital support from your local health coach.

This is a free, 9-month programme designed to significantly reduce your risk of developing Type 2 Diabetes and more generally improve your health.

Northamptonshire GP Liaison Officer

After recovering from binge eating, Kay decided to change her corporate career for one in public health. She has worked on the National Diabetes Prevention Programme since July 2017 and is passionate about helping people change their lifestyles for the better.

JAMES BEIL
Coach

James has a  bachelor's degree from Northampton University in Sport & Exercise Science, and a Master's in Human Nutrition from Oxford Brookes. He has worked in exercise in health for nearly ten years, and is driven by a long history of type 2 diabetes in his family to help prevent as many families as possible being affected by the condition

DARREN MILLS
Coach

Darren is very passionate in helping people become the best versions of themselves physically and mentally. Darren loves teaching and passing on his knowledge and seeing people go from strength to strength. Working as a diabetes coach within the Diabetes Prevention Programme is an amazing platform for me to educate and inspire people to become as healthy as possible.

SARAH HALL
Coach

Sarah is a Registered Associate Nutritionist, having completed a BSc (Hons) in Health, Nutrition and Exercise. She is currently studying Dietetics with an aim to specialise in Diabetes and eating disorders, especially how they intersect. 

Your local Healthier You programme is provided by Living Well Taking Control. The aim of the NHS Diabetes Prevention Programme is to help local patients improve their knowledge, ability and confidence whilst offering the support needed to make positive lifestyle choices.
